As all of us at Salford Engineering Solutions hold safety as one of our highest priorities, and it’s great to see this formally acknowledged. Alcumus SafeContractor is an accreditation scheme which looks at the health and safety effectiveness of contractors. They assess the policies, arrangements and qualifications of companies within health and safety. The scheme is recognised by major companies, who are aware of how rigorous the vetting process is. Health and safety procedures are scrutinised along with the safe practice record of the company in question.
Salford Engineering Solutions are now included on the Alcumus SafeContractor database, accessible to registered users. Potential client organisations can sign up to the scheme, and vet contractors before engaging them on projects. More than 470 large businesses across the UK from key sectors are using the scheme. It’s extremely useful when looking for specialists in building, maintenance, cleaning, electrical and mechanical work. The scheme has over 35,000 contractors in its database, whose clients can be assured of their capability and safety philosophy.
The accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor has been awarded to recognise our, ‘ extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management’. Gemma Archibald, Chief Operating Officer of Alcumus SME said: “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.”
